MG Gloster is slated to raise the bar to previously unknown territory when they will roll out a technologically advanced drive to become the country’s first autonomous (Level 1) premium SUV. The bookings have been opened for the vehicle at ₹1 lakh.
The model was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 back in February, in which the company highlighted Gloster's whole host of safety features. This included the first-in-segment Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) - this will not replace the human eye and driver vigilance but will only enhance the driving experience with no compromises made to safety. MG have always believed that driver will remain the sole person responsible for safe, vigilant, and attentive driving – the system will be their accomplice and will play an assistive role.
The driver seat will have 12-way electronically adjustable option along with two memory set options to pre-set the position.
Apart from this, this SUV will come with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Automatic Parking Assist, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).
Additionally, Gloster will also be rolling out an get on-demand Four-Wheel Drive which promises to extend the multiple driving modes that are already available. There are a number of terrain modes which are available and these include Sand, Snow, Dust and Mud. These will be in addition to the Sport and Eco drive modes.
There has been no compromise made to the power as the car will powered by a 2.0 twin-turbo diesel engine under the hood and this makes it Ps of power along with 480 Nm of torque. The transmission options will have options that include either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Now, since it is an MG, the Gloster's cabin will also see several features that include a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen, segment-first captain seats, panoramic sunroof and 64 colour ambient lighting.
