Tesla Model Y Debuts, Spotted As Police Vehicle In New York

Tesla Model Y has finally made it world debut when it was seen as a police patrol car as it was commissioned by the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department, Westchester County, New York. This will be the first ever Model Y which will be equipped to be a police vehicle in the world.

The Model Y will now be a police car and it has been assigned to the Detective Division of police. It was spotted with lights, sirens and radio which will aid the police in its activities. The Long Range Midnight Silver Metallic Model Y on 19″ Gemini wheels was also added to the County's fleet of patrol cars. This is being seen as an alternative fuel and is a push towards green technology.

This electric patrol car will come with state-of-the-art Whelen CenCom Core Lighting technology, according to a Tesmanian blog. CenCom Core system will have great configurability, speed, as well expansion which will act an enhancement that will offer safety to the officers. It will also have advanced automation as well as remote connectivity.

The Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department's purchase of a Model Y could well save $8,525 on fuel over five years, as per the blog.
