Toyota Kirloskar Motor rolled out the much-anticipated Fortuner facelift in India at a starting price of ₹29.98 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, the Fortuner SUV is already a respectable brand in this particular segment, this update has notched up the game at part with the Ford Endeavour.
We will see the 2021 Fortuner in two variants and seven trims. The company has also rolled out the previously spotted Fortuner Legender which sits in the higher price range.
One can easily sport the 'Legender' owing to the sportier-looking body kit that it has received over the standard iteration. It has put to use a dual-tone colour pattern, sharper headlamp DRLs, different bumpers and a number of other cosmetic updates. Also, it has received a larger 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels which enables bolder look and presence.
If we take a peak inside, we will see a new touchscreen infotainment system that extends support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Also, it has received a 360-degree camera, air purifier and wireless charging and a number of other new features. Also, there is a new colour scheme for leather upholstery.
This new Fortuner comes with a new BS 6-compliant 2.8-litre oil-burner powertrain that has been rated to deliver 201 bhp of power as well as 500 Nm of peak torque. And, there is a petrol-sipping option in the form of a 2.7-litre motor that is capable of churning out 164 bhp of power and 245 Nm of torque. As far as the transmission option is concerned, it comes with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed sequential automatic units.
