Kia, which has been a prominent force in global markets, has started to make its presence felt even in the Indian market. The South Korean car giant has been on a product offensive in several important global markets. Now, as per reports, Kia plans to relaunch the brand with a focus on being stylish, dynamic and inventive. Also, it will come with an all-new logo sometime early in 2021. This will be called the ‘Plan S’ where S stands for ‘Shift’.
There are several media reports which suggest that Kia is hinging its bets on electric vehicles and aims to bolster its image in the global market. Also, the company is planning to have at least 11 EVs by 2025 – they have allocated an investment of $25 billion for electric development.
This proposed Kia-badged EV will be based on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) – it has been shared with Hyundai.
It should be mentioned here that this new Kia logo was last seen on the Imagine concept electric car in 2019. In February this year, after the leak of the patent file, the brand was forced to confirm the arrival of this new logo. It is now expected to be seen in the production vehicles that will be launched from next year onwards.
As per the concept, all three letters will come connected with each other and it will replace the signature circular design pattern.
