In what can be safely termed as a huge development, the Ford Ranger has been spotted in India. There were reports which suggested that the car could be rolled out in India and now images have been shared of the Ranger being seen in Mohali, Punjab.
Ford Ranger comes with a blacked-out front bumper that has a large silver-coloured skid plates. There is also a grille with Ford lettering, fog lights, roof rails, chunky wheel arches, roof rails. There is also a Ranger badge on the tail gate.
There are reports which say that the Raptor variant which is also from Ford India will have similar features. However, the Ranger Raptor will also come with an upgraded suspension as well as a few visual tweaks which will make it stand out from the regular model.
If the Ford Ranger is available in India, it will be imported via the CBU route and hence, it will be priced at upwards Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom).
As far as the features under the hood are concerned, the model will have the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine as the Endeavour. It will, thus, be able to produce 168bhp and 420Nm of torque which will then be couple with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Ranger Raptor, if rolled out, will derive its power from a bi-turbo variant of the same diesel mill. As such, the power output will read 210bhp and 500Nm.
